Squad Member Customisation Breakdown!
Courtesy of our Community Crew member StogeP and a joint effort from our fine forum community members, we present to you a fine breakdown of everything we know so far, in regards to Squad Customisation!
Let’s get started! Here’s the entry member customization screen from what we can tell.
You can also customize you squad members physical features like:
- Clan Tag
So that’s new to CoD. But let’s get into what we all care more about I’m assuming, which is the loadouts, weapons, equipment, perks and streaks! Here’s the class customization screen.
Within the class, you are given a budget to spend on: Primary, Secondary, Lethal, Tactical and Perks. Weapon attachments and kill streaks are FREE.
Now this game is similar in ways to Black Ops 1 where you get points (xp) and you spend those to unlock all the create a class weapons, perks, etc as you choose so you spend your hard earned points on what you want when you want. It looks like there is still some level based unlock progression though for when things become available.
When choosing your loadout, you have a default of 8 points to spend on perks so it’s not longer about the number of perks you choose, it’s about the value of perks you choose! More beneficial and impactful perks cost more points per unit! This is new to CoD. You have to option to forego your use of a secondary and equipment to gain up to 11 points to spend on perks so we must assume the secondary, lethal and tactical each cost one point. Many of the perks were locked in the reveal so we only got to see 5 or 6 being used.
We will detail them all when we can. For now, here’s the screenshot of them:
You can see the perks are now broken down into SEVEN unique categories:
Also added to Ghosts are 30 new weapons that are appearing for the first time in the upcoming CoD. As far as we can tell, classifications will most likely be:
- Submachine Guns
- Assault Rifles
- Marksman Rifles
- Sniper Rifles
- Light Machine Guns
These may or may not tie in with the previous picture that list soldier classifications such as:
It also looks like Primary weapons will have 4 different ways of adding “attachments” (we can’t be sure yet if these attachments sub sets fit every weapon class):
- Under Barrel
Here also is a quick glimpse of the Lethal equipment in the game and they are:
- Throwing Knife
- I.E.D (Proximity C4)
- C4 (Remote Detonate)
- Canister Bomb
Finally we have Kill Streaks. They are returning much like in MW3 with the 3 strike packages: Support, Assault and Specialist.
Specialist is unclear at the moment how it will work. Will you be able to obtain all 35 perks?! That seems quite OP if so. Maybe the leaks we thought were true about specialist back before BO2 came out were actually about Ghosts…? So you dont get all the perks, but you get the extra perks as you set them up to 4 extra… Maybe, we’ll see!
Support is similar to the last game only they say they’ve removed a lot of the lethality of it (stealth bomber FTW). Here’s the list as we have it now, let’s try to get all these figured out:
- Sat Com (4)
- Ballistic Vests (5)
- Box of Guns (6)
- Night Owl (8)
- Ground Jammer
- Air Superiority (12)
- Support Squadmate (13)
- Juggernaut Recon
Assault is similar to MW3 only we are not sure if the streaks stack or double up within the same life. Here is the listing of the assault streaks as we can confirm from the video at this point:
- Sat Com (3)
- I.M.S. (4)
- Riley (5)
- Sentry Gun (5)
- Chopper? (6)
- Vulture (7)
- Assault Jug?
So as you can see it some of the old with quite a bit of new. Got anything else to add? Feel free to contribute to the discussion on our forums!
